Monster Vase

Image
Designing     For this project I had an idea of some vessel. My original idea was a donut vase, mimic jewelry box, and a money bag bank. My partner had a bunch of different vase forms so we ended up doing a mimic vase      We ended up making the base of the vase in Rhino 3d, and then I used Nomad to smooth out the edges and sculpt teeth and an eye      Before we sent it off to print we did add a flared base to make it more steady. However after the print finished, there is a seam running all the way down the side of the vase and id like to figure out what that issue is with the print

The Nickle Gallery: A Review

Image
The Nickle Gallery A review by Yuki Grimoldby Stepping into the Nickle Gallery for the debut of Ecologies by Evelyn Koliju, I felt a wave of excitement and curiosity. The prospect of exploring not just one, but two captivating exhibitions immediately drew me in. The experience was an unexpected blend—learning about the powerful role of horses in wartime, then shifting focus to the interplay of science and art in ecology. In this review, I’ll first introduce the Nickle Gallery, then discuss the fascinating Munnings: The War Years exhibit, and finally spotlight my personal favorite, Ecologies by Evelyn Kaliga. Coaster Project

Image
SKETCHES        This post is a collective post from the last three weeks of work so might be a little long. On the first week I made 5 different coasters with various designs in Procreate. The first one I designed is a mandala with a pastel colour pallet using the radial symmetry tool      The second one, I took the prompt of a coaster that fails at being a coaster. I essentially just made it a block of wood with a sloped top     Next,  designed a Formula 1 car as a coaster. I would have made it to have functional wheels and a spoiler at the back for maximum aerodynamics.       Then, I designed a coaster for the centennial at AUArts. I would make it out of a a light wood, and originally have the AUArts logo appear when condensation gathered on the surface and have an art themed pattern engraved. however numerous people suggested I had the logo engraved and the pattern be what appears with condensation.      ...

Castle Reimagined

Image
So like last week, I did a castle but this time I decided to added more details and fix up the original. And that means starting from scratch        I started like I did last week with making an outline with circles, but this time I also used rectangles to mark where I want the battlements and ramparts by using the rotate tool with copy on so it will look even.      Then I extruded everything with extrude curve and cut it with boolean  difference.      Already looks so much better and we aren't even done the outer walls. Now I take two circles and two squares to make arch doorways and windows, I pushed a copy of this layout to the side to save for later.     I used the revolve tool to help me get the shape all the way around through each tower, then cut the shape from each tower. N ow we have doorways in the towers.      (I took this screenshot before I did the ramparts)  ...

Castle Design

Image
For this weeks project, I was tasked with making a castle using basic geomatry and some of the following commands in Rhino 3D:           - extrude           - loft (which I didn't use)           - revolve            - move           - copy           - rotate  I also used the Boolean Difference command to cut shapes out, so Im just going to call it the cut tool from here on out, including future posts     My first step was to make the layout of the walls, I also decided to make a walkway on the top of the wall hence for the extra circles. The second step was to use the extrude command to get the cylinders ready for the cutting command (aka Boolean Difference) as shown with the image below. Next I followed the same steps as the walls to make towers along the pe...

First week project

Image
For our first week, I was tasked with making a 3D model using cubes summarizing what I did this past summer. Since I was in the precollege program, I did a paint pallet and brush.
